Birr w/end  in ‘County Arms’ this Fri + Sat night. Cycle routes Saturday will be finalised on arrival Fri night. Organised eco walk Sunday with renowned local guide John Scully. Please note that there is a fee for same but he’s worth it! Lots to do & see if not cycling Sat. See you all there Fri night in the steam room!

While researching places to stay if cycling in The Slieve Bloom Mts., I came across ‘The County Arms’ in Birr which has an excellent reputation………………..and a leisure centre!

Birr has a fabulous castle, observatory and is a gateway to numerous walks and activities.

Gráinne in reservations will do a deal for Fri 14th March + Sat 15th March €109 which includes 2 x breakfasts + one evening meal + access to leisure centre.

Rooms are not available Sun 16th but we can cycle, walk till late & shower in leisure centre. You’ll be back for annual ‘Round Dalkey Island’ Fin Swim on Paddy’s Day! (You can always  have ‘High Tea’ in Finnstown House on the way home.)
